"Delia" is mostly handspun — an abundance of texture and color with pops of reflective, tinsel-like threads. The handspun is the result of hours of time, strength, and creativity. I mix old and new fibers together — some I dye myself, and some I pull apart from previous creations. Once a piece of mine starts to pill, I don’t get rid of it; I take it apart and re-spin it into new yarn.
The brim is a rich plum color. I’m not sure of the yarn’s origin, but it feels like a strong superwash merino.
Measurements:
Laying flat, the brim (unstretched) is 7" across and can stretch up to 12".
Double those numbers for circumference.
Top to bottom measures about 11" unstretched.
Care:
HAND WASH
LAY FLAT TO DRY
I started out working in fibers and have since fine-tuned my niche within that medium. These days, I focus on deconstructing materials with my wool picker and drum carder — mostly old sweaters, bits of wool, virgin hair extensions, and always a touch of sparkle. Drink in the colors and textures, and feel completely warm from the inside out in one of these hats. Nothing feels more like love than a hand-knit.
