Edith had been summoned suddenly on Halloween night, when the veil was thin. The spot the board lay was the same spot her brother had stood screaming. The screaming was the last thing she heard on this earth before she was whisked away into her afterlife.
The seance party murmured together, “Ouija board ouija board, tonight's the night if you'd like to talk with us say, ‘yes it's alright.’”
Edith replied with a loud strike against the ground. Energy pounding sharply and vibrating everything.
“Ouija board ouija board thank you for showing us you're here, when you were alive why did you disappear.”
Edith hadn’t thought about that. Her world was now so different. Like falling through a mirror. She squeaked out “Can’t remember, brother defenderrrrr” in a long low whisper.
“Ouija board ouija board, it’s sad that you can’t remember, but glad to hear that your brother was your defender.”
“Ouija board ouija board, bringing a spirit from long ago - we are grateful to communicate with you using our ouija board glow.”
Then there was a goodbye, accompanied with iodized salt sprinkles and eye contact solution splattered in lieu of holy water.
