"Sylvia" has a rich, dark color scheme with dramatic pops of electric lime. It’s for when you’re feeling moody or mysterious but still want a touch of whimsy (pretty much my whole personality). Crying over deep pain, then skipping down the road in sparkles — that’s Sylvia. These deep tones make any complexion glow.

The brim is a burgundy hue with flecks of red — a treasure I brought home from Circle of Stitches in Salem, MA. It’s by Brooklyn Tweed, a U.S.-based company that’s now discontinued. That strand adds a bit of New England magic to the hat, and the yarn itself is irreplaceable. The whole piece is a wool blend.

Now, for the precious pops — the bobbles of my handspun. Here you’ll find hours of time, strength, and creativity. I mix old and new fibers together — some I dye myself, and some I tear apart from previous endeavors. Once a piece of mine starts to pill, I don’t get rid of it; I take it apart and re-spin it into new yarn.

Measurements:
Laying flat, the brim (unstretched) is 7.5" across and can stretch up to 13".
Double those numbers for circumference.
Top to bottom measures about 11" unstretched.

Care:
HAND WASH
LAY FLAT TO DRY

I started out working in fibers and have since fine-tuned my niche within that medium. These days, I focus on deconstructing materials with my wool picker and drum carder — mostly old sweaters, bits of wool, virgin hair extensions, and always a touch of sparkle. Drink in the colors and textures, and feel completely warm from the inside out in one of these hats. Nothing feels more like love than a hand-knit.
